Sustainable Paper
Our sustainable paper comes from responsibly managed forests and papermills.
This means each of the following criteria must be met: Prevention of deforestation, over exploitation of forests, consideration of local population’s social and economic wellbeing, and evaluation of the impact on the natural habitat to ensure wildlife is maintained.
Cork
The cork material is produced from the bark of a cork oak tree. The bark from a cork tree can be safely harvested every 9-12 years and the harvesting of the bark does not harm the tree. In fact, removing the bark improves the cork oak tree’s positive impact on the environment. While the cork oak grows back its bark, the tree absorbs 3-5 times more CO2.
Apple
Apples are cored and peeled during the apple juice process. Instead of sending by-product to a landfill, they can be given a new life. First, the cores and the peels are mechanically ground into a powder. The apple powder is then mixed in with PU and color pigments and applied to a backing such as cotton, polyester or viscose.
